The world of employee benefits has seen many changes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Join Liliana Salazar and Cory Jorbin as they discuss what those changes are, what they mean for employer sponsored plans, and benefits issues plan sponsors should be aware of as they prepare for upcoming renewals.

The lack of mental health support has been a growing issue for employers for quite some time and factors related to the COVID-19 pandemic has put an additional impact on mental stress in the workplace. Social distancing, job loss and increased household roles further exasperated this crisis, which can lead to reduced productivity at work. Open enrollment is an important time for employer/employee engagement. Now more than ever, employers are accelerating their use of virtual communication tools for open enrollment because of COVID-19. For some employers virtual open enrollment is welcomed, while others are unsure about how to get started. Join our speakers, Meagan Tyson and Stacy Kuehler as they share how to prepare for a successful virtual open enrollment, how understanding employee behavior can make for better communication decisions, and best practices for keeping employees engaged.

2020 is proving to be a major turning point when it comes to maintaining the financial viability of employee health plans. The COVID-19 pandemic and related economic disruption has put additional pressure on employers to keep a close eye on health plan stability. Employers must be as mindful of the financial state of their health plan as they are about the health of their employees.

 The health insurance market has been impacted significantly by the pandemic. Now that we have several months of data, we can analyze how employers, employees and insurance carriers have reacted as well as utilization trends and what we can expect in 2021.
