    Speaker Bio: 

    Milton Velez is the Associate Manager of Global Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) at PTC Therapeutics. In his current role, Milton manages the portfolio of resource groups, develops departmental strategies, and works diligently to enhance the overall employee experience.

    Milton has led large and complex teams in both retail and restaurant settings. Recently, he made a strategic career shift to Human Resources, where he discovered a deep passion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) work. This new career path has allowed him to leverage his strengths in community building and motivation, aligning perfectly with his professional aspirations.

    Milton's key skills lie in strategic thinking, data analysis, and team building. He excels at consuming large amounts of data and providing insightful analysis that leads to well-informed recommendations. His natural aptitude for team building continually drives him to harness the talent around him, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

    Notably, Milton recently earned the Certified Diversity Professional credential and has been invited to speak at National Diversity Council events, reflecting his growing influence and expertise in the field. He is also an active member of the National Diversity Council and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

    Milton holds a degree in Labor Studies and Employment Relations from Rutgers University. His educational background further solidifies his understanding and commitment to fostering equitable workplaces.

     As a dedicated HR professional with a passion for DEI, Milton Velez continues to make significant strides in creating inclusive environments where every employee can thrive.
