2023 New Jersey Legal Update

The program will provide updates on employment law trends and developments in a variety of areas including the status of pending legislation on proposed amendments to the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, examination of social media in relation to employment law, independent contractor classification, employment law posting and notice requirements, recent legislation on electronic monitoring, and employment issues relating to COVID-19 litigation. The program will also include dialogue on remote work and its evolving impact on the workplace. The presentation will be interactive, with opportunities for discussion during the program.

PRESENTER:  Our Presenter is Christina Silva, Esq. Christina is a Principal in the Berkeley Heights, New Jersey office of Jackson Lewis, P.C., where she focuses on conducting workplace investigations in harassment, discrimination, retaliation, compliance and whistleblower matters, counseling management clients on employment issues, including strategic and preventative measures, employment actions, performance management, leaves of absence, corporate restructuring, best practices and organizational compliance, and preparing policy documents, employment, consulting and separation agreements. She also provides training of Company managers and staff on workplace policies and procedures. Fully bilingual in Spanish, she translates and presents training programs for clients with a Spanish-speaking workforce. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Christina spent 27 years at a law firm where she was the Vice Chair of its Labor and Employment Department. She graduated from Villanova University and Seton Hall University School of Law and holds a Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) Certification.
