    “How Benefits and Leave Policies Have Been Impacted by COVID 19”

     The health insurance market has been impacted significantly by the pandemic. Now that we have several months of data, we can analyze how employers, employees and insurance carriers have reacted as well as utilization trends and what we can expect in 2021.

    As employees return to work, employers will be faced with new attendance and absenteeism challenges including COVID-19 related illnesses, special leave rights under the FFCRA, and potential accommodations under the ADA for COVID related medical conditions.

    Our presenters Caroline Andress and Tina Computzzi from HUB International Northeast will cover:
    • The state of the insurance market and the impact on the delivery of care
    • Changes that have affected employers and employees, implications and concerns
    • How telehealth, office visits, hospitalization and rx utilization has trended during the pandemic
    • Impact on Insurance Carriers and how that will affect insurance renewals in 2021
    • Understanding the changing landscape of absence related benefits in 2020 due to COVID-19;
    • An explanation of the leave rights under the FFCRA, including leave reasons, pay under FFCRA, allowable durations, documentation, employee rights, and interplay with regular FMLA;
    • An overview of potential accommodations under the ADA for COVID related medical conditions and how the EEOC guidance can mean additional requirements for employers and employees to comply.
