The lack of mental health support has been a growing issue for employers for quite some time and factors related to the COVID-19 pandemic has put an additional impact on mental stress in the workplace. Social distancing, job loss and increased household roles further exasperated this crisis, which can lead to reduced productivity at work. In this one-hour session, we’ll explain the impact COVID-19 has on your employees’ mental health, the risk of mental stress on employees and employers in the workplace, and the tools to identify the risks before they become unmanageable. Join our speakers, Gigi Acevedo-Parker and Wendy King, to understand the additional stresses that your employees, including yourself, could be facing during a pandemic and simple steps you can take to improve the mental wellbeing of your workplace. Learning objectives: • How COVID-19 is affecting employee emotional and mental health • Challenges employees are facing in quarantine with little to distract them from existing or potential mental health concerns • The impact psychosocial stressors have on employees with pre-existing mental health disorders in relation to workplace absence • Reduction in productivity in association with mental health conditions vs. Increase of pre-existing health disorders from psychosocial stress • The importance of mitigation of workplace psychosocial stress when determining the emotional wellness of the workplace Continuing education credits (1 credit) available - HRCI, SHRM, and CPE Interested but can't attend?
