    Current trends in employment law pitfalls, especially in the areas of:

    A review of key decisions in 2011 from the State and Federal Courts that affect responsibilities of employers (and their Human Resource Managers) in the areas of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

    Speaker: DanaLynn Colao, Member of the Firm, Saiber LLC - focuses her practice on business litigation with an emphasis on employment issues and professional liability counseling and litigation. She counsels clients on a wide array of issues that arise in the workplace including medical leaves of absence, wage and hour claims, employment agreements and non-competitive agreements. She represents clients in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels and before administrative tribunals.

    Speaker: Sean Kelly, Member of the Firm, Saiber LLC - For over 32 years, Sean Kelly has focused his practice on counseling businesses and defending employment and other business cases, and has successfully tried many such cases to verdict. A graduate of Yale College and Georgetown University Law Center, he represents banks, insurance companies, manufacturers, and sales and service businesses of all kinds and sizes. His practice includes advising and litigating employment law and human resources issues, particularly wrongful discharge, discrimination, retaliatory discharge, wrongful denial of employee benefits, executive compensation, trade secrets and conversion of proprietary business information, stock options, severance agreements, preparation of employee handbooks and policy manuals, and wage and hour issues.

    This program is pending approval for 1.00 recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
